Club Description

Everyone needs to know a bit of coding these days! Give your child a taste of coding with Scratch, a child-friendly coding platform which makes it easy for anyone to get started. During this special coding session, we will guide children through a Star Wars Scratch project which will be a great introduction for new coders and a fun themed project for those who have used scratch before.

What will I need to take part in this Online Club ?
1. A reliable internet connection
2. Windows or Mac Computer with microphone and camera to access Zoom. Make sure it is charged.
3. A quiet space to play and learn.
4. Know how to use the basics of zoom: how to turn on and off camera and microphone, how to share your screen, how to change your name, how to comment, chat and raise your hand in zoom and how to give your teacher remote access to your screen if you need technical help.
5. A Canva account. Please create an account at https://www.canva.com/. You must have this open on your computer, be logged in and ready to go when your course starts. (The free version of Canva is sufficient)

Note: Make sure to confirm your email address after setting up your Canva account!

Note 2: We will be using the web version on Canva on a computer/laptop (not on a mobile device)

Note 3: Your child should be using zoom and Canva on the same computer so that they can share their screen with the Designer Minds leader who can then see their progress and help them out when needed.
